Different Models to obtain the certificate “Competency in Dental Implantology” -CDI- Issued by the
“German Council of Oral Surgery and Implantology” GCSI in cooperation with the “International Medical College” IMC®

Model 1 :
GCSI works together with a University in the partner country. The university offers a science-based one-year curriculum.
The lecturer of GCSI will conduct an advanced two-day lecture to complete the university curriculum of the partner university, followed by a written and oral exam.
Upon successful completion, the participant will receive the Certificate: ”Competency in Dental Implantology” (CDI) issued by the German Council of Oral Surgery and Implantology (GCSI) in cooperation with International Medical College (IMC®).
The “CDI” certificate allows the delegate to enroll and get accepted in the Master of Science program for Implantology and Dental Surgery (Full time and Part-time) offered by the German University of Duisburg-Essen.

Model 2 :
GCSI works with a partner who is organizationally active in postgraduate education programs.
To enable as many delegates as possible who have already successfully completed a one year postgraduate science-based curriculum to gain benefits from the GCSI. GCSI has decided to recognize the already completed curricula in an internal equivalence test.

Since the delegates have already passed an exam successfully, only the following will be conducted:

1. Advanced lectures: 2 days seminar done by the GCSI teaching staff
2. Oral examination: 2 documented cases of different indications in the form of a Power Point Presentation according to the given GCSI guidelines.

Upon successful completion, the participant will receive the Certificate: ”Competency in Dental Implantology” (CDI) issued from the German Council of Oral Surgery and Implantology (GCSI) in cooperation with International Medical College (IMC®).
The “CDI” certificate allows the delegate to enroll and get accepted in the Master of Science program for Implantology and Dental Surgery (Full time and Part-time) offered by the German University of Duisburg-Essen.

Model 3:
GCSI offers a one year complete postgraduate educational curriculum in "Implantology and Oral Surgery", based on educational events and / or e-learning concepts under country-specific requirements.
Upon successful completion and passing a written and oral exam, the delegate will receive the Certificate: ”Competency in Dental Implantology” (CDI) issued from the German Council of Oral Surgery and Implantology (GCSI) in cooperation with International Medical College (IMC®).
The “CDI” certificate allows the delegate to enroll and get accepted in the Master of Science program for Implantology and Dental Surgery (Full time and Part-time) offered by the German University of Duisburg-Essen.

The high value of the “Competency in Dental Implantology (CDI)” certificate issued from the GCSI is reflected in the reduced length of study time in the German academic Master's degree program (MSc) and reduced tuition fees.

It must be taken into account that Germany is ranked among the top countries worldwide in the field of dental implantology and postgraduate education and training.
